This was our first time at Zags and we will be back. The bed was comfy and the room clean and welcoming. The staff was amazing. Making s’mores around the fire after we checked in was a pleasant Surprise. At breakfast in the morning we were greeted and served by the friendliest gentleman, Juan, he definitely went above and beyond! Make sure you have time to enjoy a board game, try out a skateboard, or play a game of pinball!

Room was great, comfortable and Hotel in a good location as we were seeing a show at the Keller. | The contintenial breakfast was a disappointment, so we went to a local restaurant with a delicious breakfast.

🏨 I recently stayed at The Hotel Zags for a short three-night personal stay and had an excellent experience from beginning to end. The biggest highlight for me was how quiet and peaceful the hotel is — it made for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. 👏 The front desk staff were exceptional. Lucas was especially helpful when assisting me with setting up my reservations, and Rachel, Elsa, and Cici were always friendly, professional, and quick to help whenever I had a question or needed anything during my stay. Even when the front desk became a little busy with guests checking in and out, the team handled everything efficiently and with a great attitude. They are also very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and were helpful in pointing out things nearby. 🍸 I also want to recognize the bar and restaurant team — Maria, Arthur, and Derek. Their service was consistently excellent. Orders were always handled promptly, and whenever I stopped by for hot water for tea there was never any delay. Everyone was welcoming and attentive. My room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. 🛌 The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, which made it easy to get a great night’s sleep. I was also grateful that there was a desk available so I could comfortably use my laptop when needed. The room included a small refrigerator 🧊, which was helpful for storing a few refrigerated items, and the bathroom had plenty of hot water with a great showerhead — always a nice bonus after a long day. ☕🥯 The continental breakfast was another nice feature and was consistently well stocked with cereal, muffins, bagels/English muffins, yogurt, and oatmeal. Coffee and hot water for tea were always available, which was really nice. One of the most enjoyable features of the property is the courtyard area. In the evenings it becomes especially beautiful with the fire pits lit, creating a really relaxing atmosphere. The hotel also hosts a nightly S’mores gathering, providing all the supplies — a fun and unique touch that guests seemed to really enjoy. 🗺️ The location is fantastic. 🚶‍♀️ The hotel is within easy walking distance of grocery stores, convenience stores, shopping, public transportation, and the waterfront. The Keller Auditorium is also just a couple of blocks away, making it very convenient if you’re attending a show there. Another thing what was wonderful was how accommodating the staff were when I needed to store my belongings 🧳 for about an hour after checkout. The check-in and checkout process were both smooth and efficient, which made the entire stay feel very easy and stress-free. Overall, this was absolutely a five-star experience. The Hotel Zags offers a great combination of friendly staff, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and an excellent location. Whether you’re visiting for business, a short personal stay, or a longer trip, I would highly recommend it! 👍👍

Everything! Great room, comfy bed, fun decor, old-school arcade games, pinball machines, cool bar, great garden/courtyard, super friendly staff and puppers walking around on four legs. What's not to love?

Returning guest from previous Portland trips! Zags is convenient to the PSU area of Portland, close to MAX, buses, and trolley lines, as well as many places nearby for park, farmers market, concert venues, and shopping/dining. | Can't think of anything.

Nothing no options | 40 dollars for parking is insane for one night at least if I was told at front desk about the parking charge all I was told about a 80 hold not even in NYC a big city charge for parking per night at least let customers know is simple about the extra charge, breakfast no options only muffins and milk

The staff was kind. But be aware: - there is no free parking, you have to pay $40 a day. - the free breakfast is a complete joke. Just bagels, coffee and cold boiled eggs. Thats it. No hot food at all. No meats, no oatmeal. It’s ridiculous. - there’s no microwave in the rooms.
