Excellent location with view of the lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Very convenient to Downtown Estes Park and the entrance to RMNP. Great staff and large comfortable room with living space ~ very clean and great amenities in the room. Traditional look but modern vibe. Definitely worth every penny ~

The venue itself was beautiful — and it’s the location my soon-to-be son-in-law chose to propose to my daughter, which should have made it even more special. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were met with irritation instead of excitement. The staff seemed upset that we had not notified them of the proposal plans. All he wanted was to use the small gazebo outside — in 23° weather (feeling like 12° with the wind) — for about 20 minutes. For that, we were charged $500, which was the equivalent of our two-night stay. We had 18 people with us for this occasion and spent a significant amount not only on lodging, but also dining and drinks at the bar to celebrate. To be treated as though we were inconveniencing the establishment was extremely disappointing. For a venue that presents itself as “high-end,” the hospitality did not reflect that standard. At one point, I was even handed a mop and towel to clean up a spill myself. This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime moment for our family. While the setting was beautiful, the service and overall experience left us very disappointed.

We have always loved this place. Since they did a mass renovation of rooms, we decided to go up for our Anniversary. The Estes Park Resort & Spa did not disappoint. Our King room lakeside view was fantastic!!! The room was warm, cozy and clean. They took care of us, and we will be back. Hats off to Kimberly at the front desk. She was awesome!!!

The atmosphere and vibrations was amazing. Every turn had a magnificent view better than the previous. Kimberly at the front desk showed a sense of hospitality that was genuine, and consistent. The resort restaurant service was 5 star and the food was 7 stars. The locals were inviting, warm and happy.. all the time! Can’t waste to go back.

My wife and I just celebrated our 30‑year anniversary, and choosing Estes Resort & Spa in Estes Park, Colorado was one of the best decisions we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the resort felt warm, inviting, and beautifully maintained — the perfect blend of cozy comfort and mountain‑view elegance. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and every moment felt thoughtfully cared for. The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Maximilian, who we interacted with most at the front desk, deserves special recognition. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. His professionalism and warmth set the tone for our entire stay, and he made us feel valued from the very first interaction. The resort itself is stunning — peaceful surroundings, comfortable rooms, and an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down and savor the moment. Whether we were relaxing on the property or exploring the beauty of Estes Park, it always felt like we had a serene home base to return to. We also dined at the Ember Restaurant, and it was a highlight of our trip. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care. The service matched the quality of the cuisine, making each meal feel special. For anyone looking for a romantic getaway, a celebratory trip, or simply a restorative escape in the mountains, Estes Resort & Spa is an outstanding choice. Our anniversary stay was unforgettable, and we’re already talking about returning. If you want, I can also craft a shorter version for Google, TripAdvisor, or Yelp — or even a more emotional, poetic one if you want to lean into the milestone.

Update to previous review: I have now received a phone call from Karen on my personal phone number at 8pm threatening me if I do not take the previous 1 star review down within 24 hours or she’ll leave a negative comment back to me. I’ve attached the photo for proof. I’ve truly never had a worse experience or dealt with such a shady business. Previous review: During a stressful time of the year at my job, I decided to book one night here to get away on my one day off and relax. I had a terrible experience here. Karen, the general manager, was so rude to me and not only refused to refund me for my trip after not staying the night and ruining New Year’s Eve and day but once I left she looked me up on my LinkedIn and I truly feel afraid of her. I advise staying elsewhere. We also stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and mentioned it in booking notes, and when I mentioned how the hotel didn’t acknowledge it at all, not even during dinner, her response was, “So?”.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful! The view of the mountains was breathtaking, every morning felt like waking up inside a postcard. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable, always greeting me with genuine warmth and offering helpful suggestions for local activities. The combination of stunning scenery and exceptional service made my stay truly unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back!

Jennifer the assistant manager took extremely good care of me. The suite I stayed in exceeded my expectations for sure. The views are obviously amazing. The hotel itself very clean and the restaurant is absolutely a must when you stay. Also anyone at the front desk was very professional and willing to help in anyway. I will only stay here if I’m in the area again, which after my experience I most definitely will.

I had a delightful stay from arrival to departure. I was pleasantly greeted by a wonderful young lady named Stormy. My room was beautiful with a spectacular view of the lake. I was so happily surprised to have an Elk walk by my window. Wow! Quiet slumber. The breakfast menu in Ember was fabulous and coffee delicious! Server was Jim who shared local stories. Erica (manager) was kind and checked on me at the table. General Manger Karen was so nice! Her leadership shows in the amazing property and team. Highly recommend.
