Guest Reviews
The hotel building design itself was nice. The location was great. | Check in was terrible. There was a line around the corner with only one person checking in guests. They walked away for over 5 minutes as the line got longer. Alternatively there were 2 employees checking in the bonvoy members which had a very short line, showing how much the hotel under values their guests who don't pay additional fees.
Was a great location by Reading Market and the convention center! | Clean and convenient
I like that it was immaculately clean. No musty smell in the room. | The room did not have a microwave
Convenient and great location | No washer and dryer , they were broke
Everything | N/A
Disappointed that late check out was not offered even though colleague staying at same hotel with similar status was extended by an hour. I informed due to meeting that was overlapping. Unsure if there is a business center as it was not offered as a space to work. Hotel is extremely busy and loud in main lobby area. Would not recommend or return for business travel at this location when working from this office location.
I haven't posted a review here in years, but my stay at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown was so atrocious that I am warning my fellow travelers: stay away. First, a caveat: this is not the fault of the employees, who were nothing but polite. This is a fault of the people who own this hotel--it is severely understaffed and poorly built (more on that later). Here are the highlights, er, lowlights of my stay: 1) I waited in a long check-in line at 2PM, and after check-in I was told I could pick up my key at 4PM. When I returned at 4PM, there was an even longer line, and I was forced to stand in line AGAIN just to pick up my key. 2) At 10PM, exhausted after a long day, I got into one of the double beds in my room and was horrified to feel someone else's sock in the sheets! I am a germaphobe, so believe me when I flipped! The sock was white, so I tried to tell myself that it was laundered with the sheets, but I don't know for sure. 3) The room had virtually no soundproofing; in this regard, it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. A very loud man was having a phone conversation on speaker in the room next door, and my daughter and I could hear almost every word. He kept us up till 11PM catching up with his family. I have *never* experienced anything remotely close to this in a hotel room before. Employees apologized for these things, but no one made anything right. I'll never stay here again.
We got breakfast at The Pantry. The staff and food were very good but seemed overwhelmed, especially the Barista. I think during peak times there should be 2. | Nothing major but I did not find the bed comfortable. Would have appreciated water in the room and also perhaps 2 packs of regular coffee instead of one decaf. Also housekeeping came knocking on the door at 8:15. We were not on business so did not appreciate that.
